The Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society (BTUI) participated in an international event organized by the Tempo Territoriale, which is leading the network of European cities for the uses of time (Temporelles 2019 “Le droit au temps”), held in Strasbourg on 7th and 8th November.

The International Association for Time Use Research (IATUR), is an international association that groups researchers on time use. Barcelona will be celebrating the 43th IATUR conference from 27 to 29 October 2021. The candidacy was formally announced during the 41st IATUR conference celebrated on Washington last July.

Last June the Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society was presented at CIDOB within the Time Use Week. Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society is launched with the participation of key stakeholders.

The Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya), the Barcelona City Council (Ajuntament de Barcelona) and the ‘Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society’ will present it in the framework of this year’s IATUR at Washington DC IATUR is the most important international association on time use research at global level.

The Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society is an international initiative that aims at becoming an international reference stakeholder to promote public policies related to time use.

Between 2008 and 2015, the EU population on average spent per day 8 to 9 hours sleeping, 4½ to 6 hours on leisure and social life activities, and 2½ to 3½ hours carrying out household and family care activities.
