The Commission on Universities and Research of the Catalan Parliament has summoned the co-coordinators of the Barcelona Time Use Initiative (BTUI), Marta Junqué and Ariadna Güell, who explained the “opportunity to consolidate Catalonia as a meeting point for research and public policy in time uses, so citizenry’s wellness can be improved.”

The first ever compilation of local and regional time policies has been presented, with the aim of becoming a beacon for scalable public policies related with time uses in the regional and local level.

https://youtu.be/4xWx2fOxnNw The Barcelona Declaration on Time Use aims at creating a common framework to develop time policies throughout Europe at different levels. In this event, the declaration will be signed, and it will mark the beginning of the work process to spread time policies within the member states.

“The Declaration has received the support of more than 75 leading institutions in time policies, among them: the International Association for Research on the Use of Time, the European Economic and Social Council, cities such as Strasbourg, Milan and Montevideo, and 15 leading Catalan organizations in this field.

“The signatory organizations commit to work together over the next 2 years to achieve 10 key commitments.

The Network is made up of diverse Catalan, French and Italian local and regional governments and aims at sharing real experiences and pushing for the further recognition of time policies on the international agenda.
