The TUI signs a key partnership to promote time policies as a key tool for smart cities

The Time Use Initiative, as technical secretariat of the Local and Regional Governments Time Network has signed an agreement to be a collaborating organisation in the Smart City Expo World Congress, the forum for a more sustainable and equitable urban future.

Time is a political issue affecting day-to-day schedules and lives, and the urban landscape is the closest level to organise it. In an effort to bring time policies to a broader audience worldwide, it will collaborate with the main forum on smart cities. The Smart City Expo World Congress is the meeting point where urban institutions find common solutions that include new business and collaboration models.

Recognised as powerful catalysts for a brighter urban future, time policies are presented as a solution to tackle key problems such as sustainability and equality. Time policies such as the ones presented in its last Local and Regional Time Agenda on urban resilience can be an example of what is expected to bring to the Smart City Expo.

The partnership is expected to bring time policies to even more cities worldwide, as well as to be an exchange and participation platform from which the current members of the Local and Regional Governments Time Network can learn and showcase their initiatives.

It is hoped that this can be a long-lasting partnership that benefits all involved. For the moment, we will be present on the coming edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023, taking place from 7th to 9th November in Barcelona.
