SIDE EVENTS

With the aim of making Time Use Week accessible to all citizens, during the month of October, organizations, companies, and public institutions from all across the world will organize side events to the TUW2025 program to expand knowledge, reflection, and debate on the right to time worldwide. 

Talks, film forums, workshops, etc., will be organized for children and adults.

Calendar of side events organized​

The film ‘Full Time’ will be screened at the Terrassa Film Forum for Equality, organised by the Gender Policy Service. Afterwards, there will be a discussion with the Time Use Initiative.

An event for all member organisations to share priorities, challenges and experiences. The meeting aims to be a space for dialogue and connection between initiatives committed to the use of time in Catalonia.

Organiser: Catalan Network for the Right to Time.
Date and time: 8 October (internal event).

The conditions of a hyper-accelerated society and culture will be discussed, focusing on the “projectification” of life, especially in science and research. The discussion will also address acceleration, speed and rhythm, and how these aspects relate to boredom (and its liminality) and sleep (and its lack).

Book presentation "Daylight Saving Time: A Plague and a Calamity for Humanity"

The book Daylight Saving Time: A Plague and a Calamity for Humanity will be presented. In this work, the author reviews the history of daylight saving time and its profound impacts on health, climate, biodiversity, and photochemical pollution. He also examines the social and political consequences, as well as the citizen struggle and institutional debates that continue to shape the movement for its abolition.

Workshop "I Have 24 Hours in a Day: How I Organize Myself to Live Better"

Workshop-reflection on the ideal and actual use we make of the 24 hours of the day, self-managed using materials created by the Time Use Initiative. Through participatory and visual activities, the workshop seeks to raise awareness of the importance of the right to time and healthy schedules, inviting personal and collective reflection.
